German citizens are appalled after authorities announced that a Red Cross nurse allegedly administered close to nine thousand fake doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. Residents of Friesland - a rural district near the North Sea coast - are being urged by authorities to visit the local medical center to receive an authentic flu injection after the ruse was uncovered.
The nurse in question purportedly switched the COVID doses with a saline solution and injected residents with it all throughout April and May of this year. Police detective Peter Beer, who is investigating the disturbing case, made a public statement confirming that there was "a reasonable suspicion of danger." Further investigations are underway and the nurse is not yet in custody, but apparently she was an outspoken online anti-vaxer.
News of the switcheroo created such an alarm among the residents, that Sven Ambrosy - a local elected official - took to social media to express his concerns about the incident and reassure his constituency that "the district of Friesland will do everything possible to ensure that the affected people receive their vaccination protection as soon as possible."
