American Airlines' pilots flying over the state of New Mexico, encountered an unidentified object described by the crew as a "long cylindrical object that almost looked like a cruise missile." The object was tracked by radar moving
at approximately 400 knots as it dangerously entered the airspace of the airliner, causing concern among the pilots and passengers.
The incident came to light after Steve Douglass, a radio interceptor specialist, recorded the communications between the passenger aircraft and ground control. The dramatic event was described by Mr. Douglass in his blog as follows:
At approximately 1:19 CST on the Albuquerque Center frequency of 127.850 MHz or 134.750 MHz (recording wasn't frequency stamped) the pilot reported: "Do you have any targets up here? We just had something go right over the top of us - I hate to say this but it looked like a long cylindrical object that almost looked like a cruise missile type of thing - moving really fast right over the top of us.
The details of the incident are yet to be verified by the FAA, but several news outlets are already investigating the bizarre UFO encounter. See sources below.

Airliner Encountered Unidentified Fast-Moving Cylindrical Object Over New Mexico
The event, and the pilot's reaction to it, are remarkably similar to one that occurred in the same general area a few years ago.
