Sometimes people like Erich von Daniken they have a rather wild imagination, than rational thinking. Nazca Geoglyphs, Shapes and Lines are made with 3 sticks,1 thin long rope and the ability to count to 100. You don't even have to measure things.
They just made a small model of the planned geoglyph, next use simple technique to translate the key point of it on big scale. For this purpose, they wound a number of times a rope around the central pillar and the one of the stakes on the point of the small geoglyph model. Then they unwound and stretched the rope. The proportions of the small figure were automatically transferred to the large one. To properly maintain the angle, they used a third stake and hand signals, which were well embedded in their culture.
