In his 1993 book 'Against a dark backcround'. Iain M Banks has his main character , Sharrow, havingproblems leaving her home due to a clingy lover. There is a scuffler and she clobbers him..

She inspected the knuckles on her left hand' frowning.

'Get out of my house now,' she said. 'Phone', she spoke to the room.

'Ready' chimed a voice.

'Stand by' She said.

'Standing by'.

She tapped Jyr on the backside with one boot. 'You've got two minutes before I call the police and report an intruder'.

She looked away from him.

'Phone'

'Standing by'.

'Phone, please call the loc---'

Ok, I'm going.

SO today we have this very system. And no one thinks it very special.

Isn't that so, Alexa ?

Well...many science fiction writers and others have predicted inventions and tech before it appeared in public.
Leonardo Da Vinci was said to have drawn early sketches of a 'helicopter'.
.

I don't know if his 'airscrew' would have worked. Possibly someone has built a model of it.

Talk about re-writing history.

I was browsing around a site was once a member of and I noticed that a thread I had started almost exactly two years ago had been update. So I had a read through it (it was a long one).

One post, numbered 423 had the following comment.

'Replying to your post number 447...'

So time travel is with us already.

Ah well.

;)

It's no wonder that the Chinese are so advanced.

I was watching a video of a Chinese girl making a recurve bow. For some operations she was using a hack saw. Noting special there, everyone has one laying around the house.

But I noticed that the blade had teeth on both edges.

How clever ! It allows you to get double the life out of the blade.
