Parler, a popular far-right social media site has been taken offline by Amazon. The giant tech company pulled the plug on Parler after carefully considering the potential liability that hosting the conservative site could represent for the company should its members use the platform for subversive acts against the U.S. Government. This action came after Google and Apple took down Parler's app from their online stores citing concerns over the preponderance of calls to violence among its users - most of whom are Trump supporters.
Parler - put forth by its founder and CEO John Matze as one of the last bastions of free speech in the world - attracted millions of right wing users after several crackdowns by the social media giants Twitter and Facebook left them de-platformed and discontent over what they consider to be a socialist-perpetrated, social media conspiracy designed to silence the not-so-silent majority of patriots who have cast their lot with the outgoing administration.
