After a sobering and revelatory meeting conducted this Wednesday inside a sensitive compartmented information facility, or SCIF, Washington lawmakers belonging to the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence emerged with a new sense of urgency about unidentified flying objects. The classified conference, imparted by top FBI and Navy Intelligence officials, made such an impression on the honorable U.S. Representative for Tennessee's 2nd congressional district Tim Burchett, that he warned the media about a situation that seems to be beyond our control:

Clearly, something’s going on that we can’t handle. - Rep. Tim Burchett

Among those present at the classified briefing, were Representative Adam Schiff, Representative Val Demings, and Representative Patrick Maloney, who also expressed their concerns about UAP incursions into restricted military areas of operations that could pose a threat to our men and women in uniform and our national security:

We take the issue of unexplained aerial phenomena seriously to the extent that we’re dealing with the safety and security of US military personnel or the national security interests of the United States. - Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney

You know it’s always about our safety and security — our national security is [priority] number one — and so that’s really the area where we really focused on this morning. - Rep. Val Demings

This classified briefing on UFOs comes on the eve of the much-anticipated DNI report to Congress scheduled to be submitted by the end of next week. Although the content provided to the members of the House remains secret, it is quite clear that Washington is beginning to take the UFO issue in a much serious manner.
