Poaching, habitat loss and fragmentation have reduced the global population of tigers from over 100,000 in the 1900′s, to less than 4,000 in the 1970′s. http://www.tigersincrisis.com/the_tigers.htm
I am a cat lover. I love them because they are one of the most photogenic animals on Earth. They pose not for the camera, but for you! Sometimes I wonder why they are not all whisked away to their own land (moderated by Greenpeace or even Nato) where no more harm can get to them. If Tigers do become extinct, then that may blast the red tape around cloning wide open. I see it as the very last straw!
