The case for technosignatures originating from outer space is gaining support in academic circles. After Professor Loeb's controversial claim - supported by observational data - that Oumuamua could be a derelict extraterrestrial probe, many scientists started warming up to the idea that alien artifacts may indeed be populating the interstellar medium.

The latest academic to jump on the bandwagon of extraterrestrial technosignatures is Prof. B. P. Embaid, a Condensed Matter physicist hailing from Universidad Central de Venezuela. In a recent paper, Prof. Embaid argues that many meteorite samples collected on our planet could hide evidence of extraterrestrial intelligence.

In order to make the case for alien artifacts raining down from space, Prof. Embaid cited the presence of Heideite and Brezinaite, both exotic alloys embedded in two meteorites that landed in India and Yemen several decades ago. Because these two minerals do not naturally occur on Earth, it is possible they were manufactured by an advanced extraterrestrial civilization.

The fact that these metals have superconductive properties and are only created in laboratory settings may indicate a possible artificial nature. “Although it is of course possible that there are as-yet-understood processes that can lead to the formation of these minerals, however, we can step ahead on the possible new interpretation in the recently emerging field: Technosignatures," says Professor Embaid.
