Dozens of academics from all disciplines are coming together to inaugurate Limina's first UFO symposium. Sponsored by the Society for UFO Studies, Limina is a peer-reviewed academic journal founded with the specific intent of elevating the unidentified aerospace phenomena (UAP) to the next level of serious, rigorous, academic scholarship. Between February third and fifth of this year, a cadre of highly credentialed scholars will convene in an online event to discuss the nature of UAP and how the tools of science can advance our understanding of it.

This monumental shift in position from the STEM community regarding UFOs signals an openness to the idea that entities of unidentified origin are among us and can no longer be ignored. This welcomed development - largely due to the recognition by the US Department of Defense that unknown aerial platforms are indeed real and potentially a cause for concern - have motivated several independent groups of loosely-affiliated scientists to address the subject with limited results. With the establishment of Limina's Journal, academics can now document and submit their research to peer review in order to further our scientific understanding of UFOs without the fear or stigma of pursuing what was once considered "career-ending research."
