A former Marine named Michael Herrera has broken his 14-year silence to make an astonishing claim that he and his six-man unit witnessed a hovering octagonal UFO being loaded with weapons by unmarked US forces while serving in Indonesia in 2009. According to Herrera, they were threatened at gunpoint by these forces and told they would face imprisonment or death if they spoke about the incident. Herrera, who was emboldened by new UFO whistleblower protections, testified under oath to the government's UFO investigation team and a Senate committee about his experience.

Herrera's account describes how he and his unit encountered a massive octagonal craft in the jungle, which was changing colors and emitting an audible hum. As they approached the craft, they were ambushed by men in all-black camouflage who threatened them and confiscated their weapons. Herrera claimed that he saw these men loading weapon cases onto trucks beneath the craft before it took off at an incredible speed without making any sound or disturbing the surrounding environment. Despite corroborating details from military sources, Herrera does not possess documentation or photos of the incident.

Michael Herrera's story adds to the growing number of claims by intelligence officials and whistleblowers about the US government's involvement with unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP) and alleged reverse-engineering of non-human spacecraft. Herrera's decision to come forward was influenced by new UFO whistleblower protections and his connection with UFO activist Dr. Steven Greer. Greer believes that these disclosures have significant implications for the environment, energy independence, and global poverty. While some remain skeptical about Greer's approach, Herrera's account has brought attention to the ongoing debate surrounding UFOs and government secrecy.
