The Main Astronomical Observatory of NAS in Ukraine is conducting an independent study of unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP) and the preliminary results are in. A group of observational astronomers in the embattled country whose main job consists of watching the sky during the daytime hours for meteors and other space intruders, has revealed there are two classes of UFOs present in the sky: 1) Cosmics (COS), and (2) Phantoms (PHA).

According to the researchers, the "Cosmic" class of UFOs are in general brighter than the background in which they travel. Conversely, the "Phantom" class tends to blend in more with the background sky, thus making them more difficult to detect. One common feature that both UFO taxonomies exhibit, however, is their ability to travel at high velocities irrespective of the medium.

In order to carry out these groundbreaking observations, the team made use of two meteor stations installed in Kyiv and in the Vinarivka village in the south of the Kyiv region. The distance between said stations is approximately 120 kilometers or 74 miles. The instruments used in the study consist of multiple SI 178 MC and ASI 294 Pro CCD cameras capable of high-speed recording with an exposure time of less than 1 millisecond.

Over the course of several months, the group managed to capture and analyze "a broad range of UAPs everywhere." The "Phantom" UFOs, according to the study, appear high in the troposphere at altitudes of up to 10 – 12 km ( 3 – 4 miles ) and have a rough size ranging from 3 to 12 meters or 9 to 39 feet. The average speed of the UFOs was measured to be a whopping nine miles per second. More at the link below.
