A small plane is flying across a mountain range. It begins to have engine problems and starts to descend. There is nowhere it can land. So the passengers have to jump out by parachute.
Unfortunately there are five passengers and only four parachutes.
The passengers are the Pope, Nicola Sturgeon (Scottish First Minister) ,Boris Johnson (UK PM), Donald Trump and a ten year old school boy.
Sturgeon says " I have to look after the Scottish people'. She grabs a chute pack, slips it over her shoulders and jumps out the door.
The Pope says 'I have to think of the billions of Catholic Faithful', he does the same.
Donald Trump says 'I am the most brilliant President ever, So brilliant and clever that there has never been a president like me. I'm the cleverest man in America and deserve to live'. He grabs a pack, slips it on and jumps.
Boris Johnson looks down at the child.
'You take the last pack,. I've had a good life and I am old. Your life is only just beginning'
The child smiles at him. Thank you, Mr Johnson, but don't worry. There are still two parachutes remaining. We can both survive'.
'But', says Boris, 'How come ?'
'Well', says the child, 'The cleverest man in America just put on my school bag and jumped out the door'.

Funny how things catch one's attention.
Just been watching the senators signing up for Trump's trial.
This is done in batches of four, alphabetically.
There are no senators with surnames beginning with the letter 'A'.
Not one in the hundred.
But what is coming out is that some of the Republicans are trying to find ways of avoiding this trial altogether. It should be hard for them as, probably uniquely, they were all witness to the crime he is accused of. They were actually at the crime scene and would likely have been victims it they hadn't managed to getaway.
Ye still they support Trump.

Yes it is dissapointing on any levels I think.
Bad that the GOP and other big hats will let it happen and put election and position above principle.
But also a sad testament to the folks that just say, meh, forget it.
I think every citizen should be livid about what happened.
But it appears not.
I fear this has casued a lot of lossof confidence in the US acrass the world.
Also it will be pretty hard to keep the high moral ground in world affairs after this.
Then you can say goodby to the Republican party. It will never be in power again.
And a Trumpian party may gather a lot of them, but not enough to get very far. Maybe every new Trumpian member will be given a copy of Mein Kampf to study.

Dr. Joseph Farrell believes there's ample evidence that Rudolf Hess was the actual author of it and not Hitler:

He dictated it to Hess and some other dude while in prison. Farrell argues that the sentence composition and way of thinking was more Hess' than Hitler's. In any case, the book is full of gossip about quarreling neighbors mixed with hateful rethoric. If you want to learn about Hitler's early life, I recommend this book:

Not particularly interested in his early life per se.
It is just one of the oft mentioned books that I haven't read yet. Sort of a 'bucket list' item.

Mein Kampf was written by Hitler as it was his only published work. He wrote it for the National Socialism but it really took off once he got all the power. There was a Jesuit priest named Fr. Alberto Rivera who claimed that a Jesuit named Fr. Staempfle wrote Mein Kampf which is all hear say and there is no proof anyone other than Hitler wrote it...He wrote the first of the two volumes while he was in prison apparently for a failed political coup or something.
Sorry but in the above I should have noted that LETA was right it was dictated.. Mein Kampf as a written work suffers from poor punctuation, mistranslation and so on....Apparently there was little attempt to make any corrections to it all...Emil Maurice and Rudolf Hess were apparently the two who took the dictation.. Anyone interested should read this:

This is interesting, the ratio of the top Amazon versions (in search) of these books shows a 6 to 1 ratio for the Communist Manifesto over Mein Kampf.
